White sugary sand beaches. Warm clear waters. Sunrises that give you goosebumps. Dolphins. These are all things I’ve always loved about Florida especially the Gulf Coast. St Pete Beach is one of the best beaches in the country and even the world. If you’re looking for resorts in St Petersburg Florida on the beach, the Alden Suites Resort would definitely be at the top of my list.

I was invited to visit Alden Suites for their second annual Blogger Bash. As always, all opinions are my own.

Resorts in St Petersburg Florida on the Beach – Alden Suites Resort

I’ll be honest. Even though I was invited here, I had no obligation to even write a blog post. However, after my visit, I was impressed enough that I really feel comfortable recommending Alden Suites Resort. I always worry that I may be experiencing things on a different level because a brand or business knows I’m likely to write about the experience. But, it’s clear that the owners and managers treat every guest like family here.

Alden Suites Resort has been family-owned and operated for 50 years (in fact, this is their 50th year!) and as it becomes harder and harder to find a beachfront experience that doesn’t feel like another chain, this was a refreshing change. The Alden Suites may identify themselves as a resort, but they have a “no resort fee” policy which is fantastic. I hate having hidden fees. Like, I really hate it.

So, what do you look for in a beachfront resort? Besides, the beach, of course. I’d almost be willing to bet that Alden Suites has it.

Pools? Got two of them. Jacuzzi? Got it. Beach volleyball? Yep. Tennis courts? Yes, for all you go-getters.

If volleyball or tennis isn’t your thing, they also have shuffleboard, cornhole, a basketball court, and ping pong tables. There’s no shortage of activities for you and the whole family. For an additional fee, there are watersport rentals such as jet skis, stand up paddleboards, parasailing and boat tours. If you’re somehow still full of energy, there is free guest access to an offsite fitness center.

We went on a sunset and dolphin boat ride that picks you up literally on the beach in front of the resort. We saw several dolphins and it was super relaxing and the boat crew was fantastic.

Hosting an Event or Need to Do Business?

Many events are held in their beach lawn outdoor event space and grilling area and they are even able to accommodate you if you need to do business with their business center and conference room.

Hungry?

While Alden Suites does not have a full-service restaurant on-site, there are several food options including their Cabana Beach Bar, the Alden Oasis Food Truck, and their grab & go gift shop. If you’re visiting without access to a car and want to make use of the in-suite kitchen, you have Publix groceries delivered via Instacart.

Travel can’t be all fun and games. Occasionally you have to be a grown-up. If you travel light like me with a carry on only, then you may need to do laundry. There’s a full laundry room on site.

THE SUITES

Each suite comes equipped with just about everything you could need including:

  • Full-size refrigerator
  • Stovetop
  • Microwave
  • Cookware
  • Dishes
  • Coffeemaker
  • Utensils
  • Free wi-fi
  • (2) flat-screen TVs
  • Patio or balcony

I personally stayed in a gulf view suite, but you could also stay in a poolside suite or one of the bungalows which are basically an adorable apartment!

The Beach

The whole reason why you’re looking for resorts in St Petersburg Florida on the beach is for the beach, right?! Well, you’ll definitely be set at Alden Suites. They’re located directly on St Pete Beach and you’ll be in the water within minutes.

This was my last trip after a several trips in a row and I needed nothing more than to relax. The beach cabanas were perfect for this. They’re available to rent for $25 per day.
