Plus, they have fabulous vegan items. I had the potato buffalo wings – I’ve never had wings made out of potatoes and damn, I’ve been missing out. I also had fried avocado and how is that not a good idea. And, then I had a vegan burger because I didn’t realize I was already full.

Wikikiki Poke Shop
TYPE OF CUISINE: POKE, SUSHI
COST: $
NEIGHBORHOOD: EAST HILLS
GLUTEN-FREE OPTIONS: YES
Say that name ten times fast! As soon as I heard about this place in my research, I knew I had to go. The one thing that I commonly say I miss, when people ask me, is sushi. And, this shop has Ahimi “tuna” made out of tomatoes. It looks and tastes just like tuna and, at the time of writing, they’re the only place in Michigan to have it. They also have vegan spicy mayo which is always a win in my book. The O.V.D is vegan as-is and includes the vegan tuna.

The Cheese Lady

I know it seems counterproductive to put a cheese shop on a vegan guide BUT hear me out! This place has about six different vegan cheeses (sourced from Herbivorous Butcher in Minnesota). They will happily let you taste all of them before you decide on a purchase and they make sure to use utensils only used on the vegan cheese.
I grabbed two of my favorites after tasting them all and found some clearly marked vegan crackers to go with them.
